German Business Delegation Trip to Japan
Meet German companies from the maritime sector
As part of a bilateral business trip to Japan financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), a delegation of German companies, offering products and services along the entire maritime value chain, will travel to Tokyo and Imabari in October 2022 to establish new collaborations and partnerships with interested Japanese counterparts.
On a global scale, Germany stands out as a high-performing and internationally competitive maritime economy, characterized by a modern, high-tech shipbuilding and supply industry, leading shipping companies, an efficient port and logistics industry, innovative marine technologies and renowned maritime research and training institutes.
This industry is increasingly looking for new business partners in Japan to build strong strategic partnerships that excel in the face of international competition.
In order to open a business dialogue between the German delegation and the Japanese maritime industry, the BMWK initiated this bilateral business trip.
The aim of this project was to promote new business partnerships in order to strengthen the German-Japanese trade, enable an exchange of information and showcase the innovative technologies and solutions of the German maritime industry.
The business delegation trip’s program included a one-day presentation and networking conference with expert lectures showcasing expertise, innovations and technologies from Germany.
Japanese companies and industry representatives, as well as government officials, were invited to attend the presentation and networking conference on Monday October 17th 2022 in Tokyo to gain insights into the German industry, get to know the German delegation and assess potential areas of cooperation.
During the trip, individual B2B meetings were organized with German companies in Tokyo and Imbari from Monday 17 to Friday 21 October 2022. This was a great chance to explore new business opportunities and discover potential synergies and partnerships with German participants. Interpreters were at disposal for everyone, at no extra cost, to facilitate the business exchange.
The project was organized by SBS systems for business solutions GmbH in cooperation with DW-ShipConsult GmbH and San-Ten Consulting LLC under the auspices of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The event was completely free of charge as it is funded by the German Ministry. The German delegation was also joined by Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA, Marine Equipment and Systems Working Group) and the German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association (VSM).
