The German Trade Mission to Vietnam, implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) as part of the Export Initiative for Environmental Technologies, is designed to support German companies offering technologies and solutions for the water sector in exploring and expanding their business in the Vietnamese market. It provides a structured platform to facilitate market access, foster international business cooperation, and help companies identify concrete opportunities with potential Vietnamese business partners. The programme comprises a business delegation trip to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

During the trip, a large presentation and networking event will take place in Hanoi. Vietnamese professionals from the water sector will have the opportunity to learn about the products, technologies, and services of the participating German companies and to explore possible fields of cooperation. Afterwards, selected Vietnamese companies and other market players will be invited to hold business talks with the German delegation.

Each participating German company will meet Vietnamese counterparts in individually arranged one-to-one B2B meetings, following a personal appointment schedule. Potential Vietnamese business partners and end customers are identified and contacted in advance by AHK Vietnam, based on the ideal target contact profile defined by each German company.

Group visits with the entire delegation, either at the headquarters of potential Vietnamese business contacts or at reference projects on site, offer Vietnamese companies the opportunity to present their work directly to the German delegation, to expand their networks, and to establish relevant contacts.

Prior to the trade mission, a target market analysis providing comprehensive information on the industry and the market will be prepared and made available to participants. In addition, a visually prepared company profile will be created in the local language, which will be used to support the acquisition of business contacts on site.

The project is implemented by SBS systems for business solutions GmbH in cooperation with AHK Vietnam and is technically supported by the German Water industry association German Water Partnership e. V.

Through the implementation of this project, BMWE supports German companies in their foreign trade activities by specifically establishing and expanding business contacts in Vietnam. The business initiation serves to identify market opportunities and to tap long-term sales potential for companies in the sector.

Eight to twelve German companies can take part in the German Trade Mission. The costs for the services provided by the implementing organisation are covered by the BMWE. Participating companies are only required to pay a contribution, which varies depending on company size, as well as their individual travel and accommodation expenses.

Presentation event

As part of a presentation event in Hanoi, high-level invited representatives from Vietnamese companies, research institutions, industry associations, and organisations will have the opportunity to learn about the products and services of the participating German companies, followed by networking meetings with the German delegation.

Company and project visits

Group visits to the headquarters of potential customers as well as to selected institutions or reference projects give the German delegation the opportunity to expand their network and establish targeted contacts in Vietnam. For Vietnamese companies and institutions, they offer a direct opportunity to connect with the participating German companies.
