Summary

Short Business Description

Production of long and endless fiber-reinforced thermoplastic parts using impact extruion and compression moulding process.

General information

Company profile

Weber Fibertech GmbH, at home in the small south German town of Markdorf in the hinterland of Lake Constance, manufactures highly innovative, fiber-reinforced thermoplastic parts based on the patented E-LFT lightweight design process developed in-house. Weber Fibertech utlizes impact extrusion and Long Fiber Thermoplast Directmolding as the technology for manufacturing structural parts up to three square metersin size with short cycle times. Injection molding is likewise employed; hollow sections manufactured using the water injection process can be implemented as structural reinforcement for parts in addition to continuous fiber reinforcement. Weber’s customers include numerous big names in the automotive, engineering, construction, and agricultural industries. The company is also involved in close research partnerships with several top universities, together driving the development of new lightweight design concepts and production processes for industrial manufacturing.

Competitive advantages

E-LFT impact extrusion and E-LFT-WIT injection molding / Lightweight design – E-LFT process enables structural parts up to 50 percent lighter than comparable parts made from conventional materials / Cost-efficient – E-LFT process means structural parts need only be locally reinforced according to the load case; this saves material and cuts the cost / Maximum strength – Proper long fibers and gentle, direct compounding …
