General information

Company profile	Since 1985 Dr.-Ing Jobst Kerspe has provided engineering services and solutions in the field of supported vacuum insulation (= GVI®); for thermal applications with the company TEB. TEB here stands for “TechnologieEntwicklung & Beratung” (technology development and -consulting). In 2020 the company changed to a legal entity with the name TEB Dr. Kerspe GmbH yet keeping the focus on applications of the supported vacuum insulation concepts for highly efficient insulations in different sectors from residential applications, gastronomy, district heating, aerospace, thermal storages and battery insulation applications for different battery technologies. With its more than 35 years of experience in the field of vacuum insulation, TEB Dr. Kerspe GmbH supports clients in the conception, prototyping, knowledge transfer and small series production of new applications of the supported vacuum insulation and has multiple years of experience in the cooperation with international partners enabling us to also provide high volume production of appliances from a single point of contact.

Competitive advantages	Higher mechanical strength due to sandwich composition compared to solid lightweight materials, combined with highly efficient thermal insulation ideal for self-supported battery housings in mobile applications with a high crash safety and fire protection (Thermal runaway in battery applications). Dynamically adjustable insulation properties for changing temperature conditions. High chemical resistance and high working temperature range (below-200 to +800°C and even more). At low outside temperatures the enclosure can lead to an 25% increase of the range while at the same reducing the overall weight of the battery unit (including housing, protection, and mounting parts).
